Your apartment/studio
All apartments are equipped with mini kitchens for rustling up light meals. There is a combi microwave oven with grill, a fridge, a dishwasher, kettle and toaster. Slate House studios have a "beach hut" style kitchennete with sink, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. You will find crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils in the cupboards. (Please bring your own picnic cutlery/crockery). For your arrival we put in a bottle of water and a bottle of milk and a starter selection of cleaning supplies, English breakfast tea, Earl Grey tea, fresh coffee and sugar, plus salt and pepper and olive oil.
Food and Drink
Dining Room
We serve food downstairs in the dining room 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, and until after lunch on Sunday.* If you wish to book for lunch or supper please let us know in the morning. (We are also open to non house guests, and in the summer months especially, the dining room is always busy.) *Winter opening varies, but generally:
Breakfast is served from 9am until midday.
The house menu is served from midday until 9pm.
Sandwiches and afternoon tea are also available 3pm to 5pm.
Children’s high tea is generally between 5pm and 5.30pm.
Family dining is generally between 6pm and 7pm.
House Deli
If you want to eat in your apartment but don’t want to cook, we have a deli list for you to shop from. Just complete and return the order form. Dishes will be left in your fridge, and cooked dishes are prepared ready for you to heat up.
Self catering
You have the option of self catering. Self catering food and drink is for consumption in your apartment or on your terrace. (The garden and downstairs public areas are set aside for drinks, snacks, and meals from the dining room.) Ralphs in Portscatho is a good local general store and the nearest supermarket is Tesco in Truro.
Other house information
Baby equipment
If you have a baby we put a travel cot and bedding, changing mat and nappy bucket out for you. We also have baby monitors, microwave sterilizers, a baby bath, a potty and children’s crockery, cutlery and cups. There is also a baby back carrier and pushchair for guest use.
Beach equipment
We have fishing nets, buckets, spades, and windbreaks available to borrow and we also sell Atlantic Blanket picnic blankets. Please bring your own beach towels.
Housekeeping service
We offer a daily light clean to each apartment. Linen is changed on alternate days.
Internet
The house has wireless internet access throughout.
Play room
We have a den downstairs which has a large screen tv and dvd player, an X Box, and a toy cupboard containing toys and games, a dolls house and a garage. There is also a selection of dvd’s and books.
Pool
The swimming pool is open from 8am until early evening and 4pm on Sundays. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There is a changing room and shower, and pool towels are provided.
Outside
We have 2 acres of grounds, which includes a lawn for relaxing on, and a lower field which has a trampoline, climbing frame, a play house and table tennis.
Laundry room
There is a laundry room with two washers and dryers for guest use.

We can arrange babysitting. Please contact the office. (It may not always be possible at short notice.)

Accessibility information
Access to the first floor apartments and suites is not possible for wheelchair users, and difficult for those with limited mobility. We do however have 1 apartment and 2 large suites on the ground floor. Once you are in the main house there are no further stairs on the ground floor. The front door has one step and the door from the garden is approached by two steps. We do have a ramp. The house is approached via a gravelled driveway and parking is possible adjacent or across from the front door. We don't take pets, but an exception is made for a guide dog. For guests coming to eat, we have a cloakroom with wheelchair access. Our team are always happy to help where at all possible. Just get in touch so that we can try and meet your requirements as best we can.
